Spencer Tan, 11, has successfully completed the requirements for the Faith in God booklet four months before his 12th birthday in March. It is no small feat for a young boy, however, with the help of his parents, Bang and Philip, he finished with flying colors. The requirements includes the memorization of the 13 Articles of Faith, monthly activities on different areas and priesthood preparation. He is most proud of his ability to cook spaghetti, taught by his Mom. Bang by the way is an accomplished cook.
Spencer gives this talk to his fellow primary “I would like to tell you about my experience in doing the Faith in God. it was first given to me when I was 8 years old and I am thankful to my parents who helped me in doing the Faith in God. I am very happy because I had enjoyed and learned many things.
I remember some of my experiences were learning to play basketball, Learning how to cook spaghetti and visiting with my dad some of his home teaching assignments and I also experienced teaching in some of our home evenings. I also completed reading the Book of Mormon last year.
I am thankful for the new things I learned because of the faith in God.
We as Moms and as parents can do a lot in helping our children accomplish the Faith in God booklet. It is a splendid opportunity to teach responsibility, help them learn about the Savior and be better sons and daughters
Congratulations, Spencer! I am the primary president in Lakeshore Ward in Tempe, AZ. I am going to tell my primary children about your accomplishment. You will be blessed for your diligence in keeping the Gospel Standards.
